Residential burglaries investigated in Carbondale

CARBONDALE - Carbondale police are investigating three residential burglaries that happened over the weekend, including one in which witnesses chased a suspect.

A burglary at 1:15 a.m. Sunday in the 800 block of East Grand Avenue was reported by witnesses who chased the suspect northeast through the apartment complex. The suspect, who entered an apartment and stole property, escaped. He is described as black,

6-foot-3 and weighing about 200 pounds, with a dreadlock hair style. He was wearing a red baseball cap, white T-shirt and red shoes.

Carbondale Police also responded Sunday to the 600 block of North Almond Street in reference to a report of a residential burglary. Officers learned that someone entered the residence between 5 and 11:15 p.m. Sunday and stole property. The investigation into the incident is continuing.

A third burglary was reported Sunday in the 100 block of North Emerald Lane. Someone entered the home between 4:30 p.m. Saturday and 6:10 p.m. Sunday and stole property, victims reported.
