MURPHYSBORO - Murphysboro Mayor Ron Williams said Friday he's suspended city code enforcement officer Eric Kennedy without pay for 30 days over an alleged verbal attack on a business owner.
Williams' decision followed a police investigation into the incident, which allegedly happened in September. The matter reportedly involved the placement of a sign at the location of the business.
Kennedy has been a city employee for 11 years.
