MOUNDS - Nominating petition forms for three spots on the Meridian Community Unit School District 101 board are now available at the district office in Mounds.

Forms may be picked up between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on business days.

Petitions for the April 7 election must be filed between 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 20 and 4 p.m. on Jan. 26. Candidates' names will appear on the ballot in the order their nominating packets are received.

The three elected candidates will serve four-year terms expiring in April 2013. To be eligible to serve, a candidate must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old, a registered voter and a resident of the of Illinois and the school district for one year immediately preceding the election.
