Former gubernatorial candidate Rich Whitney released a new $2 bumper sticker to raise money for Illinois Green Party Candidates.

The sticker proclaims, "Don't blame me, I voted Whitney for governor."

"It's an excellent vehicle to get my name out there for a possible 2010 run," Whitney said.

The stickers were made available at the Green Party National Convention Thursday at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago. The party will name their presidential candidate Saturday.

Patrick Kelly, media coordinator for the Illinois Green Party, said the stickers have an amusing message for a serious issue. He said with the delays in passing the capital bill and other budgetary problems, it's clear the state would benefit from a Green in the pilot's seat.

"We need a real leader in the governor's mansion," Kelly said.
