CUTLER - Johnnie L. Brewer, 59, of Willisville was killed after he lost control of his 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle Friday afternoon on Pyatt Road.

Illinois State Police said Brewer was traveling west on Pyatt Road about 500 feet east of Paxico Road about 3:50 p.m. when he lost control of the motorcycle. The bike slid on its right side and overturned three times, throwing Brewer from the motorcycle, police said.

Brewer was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident is still under investigation.

Brewer was a graduate of Southwest Miami Senior High School, spent time as a tow motor operator at Gilster Mary-Lee Corp. in McBride, Mo., and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era, according to his obituary from Wilson Funeral Homes in Ava.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home; visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m.
