CARBONDALE - A 10-member committee that reviewed plagiarism policies at Southern Illinois University submitted a report this week to university Vice President for Academic Affairs John Haller.
The committee formed as a result of questions that arose in 2006 surrounding allegations against former SIU Carbondale Chancellor Walter Wendler's "Southern at 150" document. By chance, the final report was submitted the same day a new seven-member panel of faculty members began a review of academic work written by SIU President Glenn Poshard.
Poshard stands accused of plagiarism both a doctoral dissertation from 1984 and a master thesis from 1975 by anonymous parties.
