A Carbondale native, Sarah Paz Hyde, will show her photographs from her travels to Peru and the Philippines at the Tribeca Restaurant & Gallery in Paducah.
The show, entitled "momentitos peruanos," will have an opening reception in the gallery from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
Hyde was born to a Filipino mother and an American father and she says childhood memories of family visits to the Philippines have helped shape her photos.
She received an Associates Degree in Graphic Design from Ferris State University and a Bachelors degree in photography from Southern Illinois University.
Her first professional photo was published in the View Camera magazine in 2007, her final semester at SIU.
Hyde has shown in multiple shows and received a first place award in Paducah's 2008 Summer Photo Fest.
In fall 2008, she went with her brother, writer/director Josh Hyde, to Peru, to help film his movie Postales.
She was the set photographer for the film and an assistant to the art director.
In her free time, she was able to capture the photos that will be displayed in the Tribeca Gallery. The exhibit will be in Paducah through August.
The Tribeca Restaurant & Gallery is at 127 S. Second St.
