Car stolen in Murphysboro found in Indiana

MURPHYSBORO -- A vehicle reported stolen Jan. 8 from a Murphysboro residence along Harrison Road was found the next day in Evansville, Ind., the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department reports.

Evansville police identified the car, a 2005 Ford Taurus, after it was involved in a hit-and-run accident.

Michael Wallace, 31, of Desoto, was arrested and charged with auto theft and hit-and-run with injury in the alleged Indiana incident. Charges against him in Jackson County are pending, the sheriff’s department reports.
