Rend Lake venues set to close for the season

Certain areas at Rend Lake are set to close for the season, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Rend Lake announced.

Some closings are because of changing weather and reduced visitation at the lake.

South Marcum Campground's Owl's Roost and Buck Ridge will close Monday, while South Sandusky Day Use areas — shelters one and two, beach and boat ramp — will close Tuesday.

The Rend Lake Visitor Center will remain open on weekends throughout September and October.

For more information, call the visitor center at 439-7430 or stop by on the weekend between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., or during the week, call the Rend Lake Project Office at 724-2493.
