MURPHYSBORO — An all terrain vehicle driver was arrested just before 2 a.m. Thursday after police received multiple complaints of ATVs being operated in the area, police said.

Dusty D. Barnes, 20, of Royalton is charged with improper operation of an ATV on streets, roads and highways and driving with a suspended license. Police stopped Barnes in the 500 block of N. 15th Street and placed him under arrest, according to the police report.

" This is exactly what they need to do in Marion. Arrest these people!!! I had a guy on my block popping a wheelie at night on a rainy day. Lucky for him that no one else was driving by in one of the cross streets - considering most people don't stop on that stop sign. Yes, I called the police - it took them 15 minutes to arrive and the guy was gone.

If you drive an ATV please do so away from city neighborhoods. Don't be a jerk. "

" I love this word "allegedly" as if to say it may have been or he is accused of. For crying out loud he was caught on an ATV on a street in town, what part of that means he is accused of or he may have been riding it on the street? "

" Why are individuals that ride ATVs referred to as "redneck hillbillies" and why are people from Christopher "morons" and people from Royalton "idiots"? You might want to be careful...CCHS also stands for Christopher Community High School, not just Carterville or Carbondale. People might get the idea you are calling yourself a "moron". "

" Aren't there enough fields and woods to ride in that these redneck hillbillies can stay off the public roads?? Seriously, first the moron from Christopher, now this idiot. "
