Truck driver loses load on highway in Gallatin County
BY TARA FASOL, The Southern
Wednesday, August 27, 2008 5:10 PM CDT
GALLATIN COUNTY -- Illinois State Police are investigating a single-vehicle accident on Illinois 141, just east of New Haven road in Gallatin County.

ISP authorities said Wednesday that a truck-tractor trailer with a double-bottom semi-tractor combination was being driven by Hargitay, Hutchins, 46, of Fairfield, Ohio.

Hutchins told police his load shifted in the second trailer, about 6:40 a.m., causing him to lose control of the vehicle.

The semi veered off the roadway and went into an embankment where Hutchins drove through several trees, causing the vehicle to eventually overturn.

He received minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to an Eldorado hospital.

No citations have been issued. Authorities said charges are pending.
