Former Sen. "Jack" Danforth discusses the left-right divide in American politics

CARBONDALE -- Former U.S. Sen. John "Jack" Danforth delivered a speech in Carbondale Wednesday about the pitfalls of hyper-partisan politics on the American landscape.

Danforth, a Republican from Missouri and author of the book, "Faith and Politics:  How the 'Moral Values' Debate Divides America and How to Move Forward Together," was in town on behalf of the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
