Rosetta Stone moving behind Longbranch Coffeehouse
Sunday, June 3, 2007 1:23 AM CDT
CARBONDALE - Rosetta Stone has packed up its books and set out for a new land - on the other side of Illinois 13.

Popular bookstore Rosetta Stone will be setting up shop in Tropicana Vintage Clothing, a block off the town square behind Longbranch Coffeehouse.

Jessica Bradshaw, owner of Rosetta Stone, also will manage Tropicana. Longtime manager Lynn Raben, a prominent Carbondale musician, died in February.

Bradshaw, who took over as owner of the store in January, said Rosetta Stone would open early this week. She said the new location would be an improvement.

"I think it will be a good move for Rosetta, and I'm glad that I can help keep Tropicana open," Bradshaw said.

Bradshaw said she is excited about the possibilities of growth for Rosetta, which celebrated 12 years of book selling this year.

Rosetta's current location, in the Campus Shopping Center, will be available for leasing.

The hours at the new location will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
