It takes more than a doctor to save a life

On Tuesday, I spent half a day at the cardiac catheterization lab at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. The team effort I saw there was pretty impressive and drove home the fact that it takes more than a doctor to save a life.
I met some interesting folks at the lab, including registered nurse, Tina Wilson.

Living without power

Like a lot of folks in the region, I woke up Sunday morning to a power outage.
After a quick cup of lukewarm coffee, I took my dogs for a walk around the Carbondale neighborhood.
I was in for quite a shock. I saw downed poles, trees and power lines all around.
It sure seems like the remnants [...]

Reach out to Rosie

On June 19, a 3-year-old child was horribly mauled by an English bulldog, right here in Carbondale.
The little girl was Rosie Gordon, daughter of Kendra Kennedy Gordon and Tom Gordon.
Rosie (pictured on the left) suffered severe facial lacerations and was flown to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis for emergency care.
She has undergone the [...]
